It’s been a week since the Etape exploded on to the Alpine cols of Aravis, Colombiere and Joux Plane. Over 11,000 riders swarmed over the roads battling the climbs for their own personal mark on history in this legendary French sportive. Having ridden the course many times in part and full over the last few weeks with Yellovelo clients, Alex was more than ready to tackle the Etape on his own terms. On a day boasting over 30°C, it certainly turned up the heat on this challenge and a very happy Alex crossed the line in at 4hrs and 19 minutes receiving his medal and bagging 458th place. Col De La Ramaz was taken out of the Etape course days before due to the instability of the mountain above, which, to Alex, was disappointing but others confirmed they were quite happy without it! So, great results for those that rode with us in preparation and to you and all of you “Etapees”, congratulations and a massive well done!! Remember… Wherever you may be, let your wheels run free! Team Yellovelo.
